Federal School Funding

I worry sometimes when I read people’s thoughts regarding public schools.  Ron Paul recently talked about getting rid of the Dept. of Education (as many real conservatives often do) and the comments that followed, to me, were mind bending.

Most of them talked about how Ron Paul was against education, how he and other conservatives want our children to fail, teachers to be out of work, etc etc….

I guess it shouldn’t surprise me that people are this dense - as it wasn’t too many years ago I might have thought this was crazy too.  I also thought that Social Security was something that I was owed as well.

Until I educated myself.

One thing people OFTEN forget about our constitution, is that there are certain rights assigned to the Federal Government.  ALL OTHER RIGHTS not mentioned are exclusively the rights of the states or the people.

No one will find education in the constitution, which leaves it up to states and the people to control.  The Department of Education, therefore, is unconstitutional.

This is a very simple to understand situation, but the problem is overcoming a lifetime of beliefs instilled in us by society.

We do NOT have a right to eduction.  Education is a privileged - and one that is only allowed (per our constitution) to be provided by the States or the people.

If there are people who want the Federal Gov to be the provider of Education (like it is now), I’m fine with that - but you need to start petitioning for a constitutional amendment.  Otherwise, any Federal dollars that flow into our education system are dollars spent unconstitutionally.

From Zack Morris to Steve Jobs: The evolution of the cell phone | Articles

Once upon a time, there lived a cell phone, one that made and received calls and nothing more.

That was, of course, before the emergence of touch screens; cameras; SMS texting; multi-billion-dollar mobile buyouts; Bluetooth; hand-held devices smarter than their users; on-the-go Web browsing; and anything that ever slid, flipped, or had its own keyboard.

Liberty from Tyranny

Step 1) Spend money on programs you - or any other generation - can ever pay for.

Step 2) Raise taxes on everyone, especially the middle class - but call it fees or have the taxes charged to small businesses who pass them on to customers as price increases (see, those evil businesses out to make a buck… bastards).

Step 3) Because businesses are getting squeezed; see business start firing and stop hiring.  Watch unemployment start to rise as the housing market starts to fall.

Step 4) Print more money to give out, without any metal to back it.

Step 5) Watch the exchange rate for the dollar drop, causing exports to decrease and imports to cost more - watch prices for goods rise again.

Step 6) Print more money to give out to help people pay for the things they can’t afford until they get back to work.

Step 7) See step 5.

This is, unfortunately, a cycle that can not go on forever.  Taxes, printing money, and government running private industries will never EVER cause unemployment to go down permanently.  It will always rise - as it has through history when countries try this.  Along with the continued unemployment rise comes empty buildings and homes, a violence increase, weakened or collapsed monetary systems, and a strengthened government who is now relied upon by the people for help.  They have NO WHERE ELSE TO GO.

The people go back to the bondage from which they first came.  The only difference is the people who started in bondage strove to break away to freedom.  The people in bondage today and in the future will stay there out of fear and complacency.

There are only two directions our country can go from where we are right now - a divisive, burdened nation.  One is for the people to take back control of the government, and their freedom, which will cause the current group in bondage to rebel - as their hand outs can no longer be afforded.  Freedom has, and will have, it’s price - but the reward of liberty from tyranny, which was worth ones life in 1776, should also be worth it today.

Direction two is for the people to lie down and submit that they, too, would be more comfortable being provided for in bondage than struggling on their own with freedom.

If direction two is taken, it will be the last stand for liberty on earth - as America is the last place on earth for complete freedom and liberty.  I just hope we can keep it that way.

Gold Confiscation - The Real Story

I’m getting tired of people like Anthony Weiner telling people that the government didn’t take people’s gold in 1933 and that it could never happen in the future.  The truth is, the law hasn’t changed since Roosevelt pushed through the Emergency Banking Act.

Does this sound familiar?

“The house is burning down, and the President of the United States says this is the way to put out the fire. [Applause.] And to me at this time there is only one answer to this question, and that is to give the President what he demands and says is necessary to meet the situation.”

The law was then past before it was read by anyone in Congress.
