Absolutly Del.icio.us
So, I’ve known about del.icio.us for quite a while, but have just recently signed up with an account to try it out.
What a blast!
For those who don’t know, del.icio.us allows users to add bookmarks to their account (by simply using a quick link on your shortcut bar – or Firefox plugins) and then tag those bookmarks with keywords. This allows for quick and easy searching of any bookmarks you add. You can then also search or browse through other users bookmarks to find useful items. Very cool.
I don’t know how many times I’ve come accross a site that I’ve found useful – or thought, hmmm, this might come in useful someday – and then either forgot about it, or bookmarked it only to never be able to find it again. Yes, I can search within my Firefox bookmarks, but by default, Firefox doesn’t search the description you can add on bookmarks… not very friendly.
Anyway, so I went through, adding several bookmarks today. I use an extension for Firefox called “del.icio.us post.” It became quite addicting as I continued to add and find other bookmarks from users.
Check it out, you’ll definitely find it useful if you do any amount of searching/research online.
