Krabbenhoft Gets Tan From The Limelight

Joe KrabbenhoftThe Badgers beat Minnesota tonight 64-62 to go to 3-0 in the Big Ten conference (first time since 1962??) with the help of Freshman, Joe Krabbenhoft. Besides shutting down Vincent Grier, Minnesota’s star player, for a good portion of the game, Joe had 6 points, 8 rebounts and 4 assists including two huge free throws and a big rebound/jump-ball at the end of the game to secure the victory.

Not only did Joe have a great game, Brent Musburger and Steve Lavin on ESPN were talking about him like he was the next coming of Alando Tucker. Granted, Joe hasn’t shown the dynamic scoring skills Tucker displayed early in his career, but he does have the ability to score. More importantly, he plays every position like it’s his last; go’s after every rebound, makes great passes, and is just overall smart with the ball.

Hopefully his dad recorded the broadcast so they can take a look and listen… it’s definitely a tape to show the kids someday.

After being up 19 points in the first half, Bo put former team manager, Tanner Bronson, in the game. After a steal, it was sideshow time from there. Up 8 at halftime, the Badgers quickly lost the big lead in the second half. The last minutes of the game were back and forth until a bucket by Tucker, who removed his face mask shortly before, put Wisconsin ahead to stay.

Intense game, but 22 turnovers won’t cut it on the road in the Big Ten. I hope next week at Ohio State looks a little cleaner…. but we need to get by Northwestern (2-0) at home on Saturday first.
