6 Days of 28

Calendar NumbersSo I’ve been 28 for 6 days now… and I must say that things actually do feel a little different. A relationship that’s going well – rough spots seem to make it stronger than weaker… a cleansed karma, a renewed sense of excitement at work… overall, just a feeling of positive, forward movement.

I’ve had anxiety issues in the past, probably bad enough for medication, but I’ve been able to avoid it. Not even a hint of an ulcer yet… ;) It’s seems though, that when I’ve cleared my mind of things to worry about, I’m actually trying to find more things. It turns out that I’d rather worry about one big thing than a thousand little things. It’s like smoking for me - what the hell am I supposed to do instead of smoke – SOMETHING has to replace it. Same with worrying… if my mind isn’t going to worry – I have to replace it with something else… besides more worry. I know it’s rediculous – just like I know smoking is – but I can’t seem to kick the habit.

Of course I’ve been listening to a lot of Sirius Radio, thanks to Heather (the giver of gifts that keep on taking, ie. $12.95 per month for Sirius subscription). This week, Howard Stern announced he’s being sued by his former employer, CBS. It turns out that they’re pissed because he talked about his move to Sirius on the air before he left CBS, which in turn sold Sirius radios. It seems to me that they could’ve just told him to stop at the time, which they didn’t. The lawsuit won’t go anywhere in the long run, but it’s got to be a huge pain for Stern. I think he thought he was done dealing with people like the FCC who held him under their thumb for years.

At Musicnotes, things are progressing nicely – we’re about finished with a site redesign, and there is still some hope that we may have a first-of-its-kind product sometime soon. I’ve said in the past that I’d say something when I know more, and I will… when I know more and know I can actually say something about it. :)

Oh, my birthday weekend… was… uh… busy. Heather, myself, Davy (Heather’s brother), and his wife Abby all went to dinner together. It was excellent… steak, shimp… then out for drinks afterwards. I was a little tipsy from shots on top of beer… but what are you gonna do… you only have a birthday once a year. Sunday was the final home game for the Badgers – went with my Dad, Susan, and Heather. Bucky won… now they have 2 road games to close out the regular season. After the game, we all went to eat (even my sister Deann showed up from Minneapolis)… that was fun. I suppose I should remember the names of the places I ate at – I really don’t… not even one. Heather – you should be the one writing about the places we eat… I can just link over to you then. :)

Next up on the docket… Badgers in HD tonight at my Dad’s, Friday morning car maintenance before work (wish me luck with getting up early), finding a birthday present for Mom during lunch… then down to Heather’s after work. All to get up early Saturday and drive up to Chippewa with Heather and Eli. My mom has met Heather, but really likes kids and wants to meet Eli for the first time. It should be fun. He’s a great kid who has really latched on to me, which I love… it’ll be nice to have my mom see what I’m talking about all the time.

So, 6 days gone, 349 to go!
