"Everything happens for a reason." Spoken so many times by all of us. Have we ever actually looked for proof of this?
Blind faith has never been my strong suit.
So, does everything really happen for a reason? So many things happen everyday, I can't imaging this is true... but wait a second. Ok, we've all been through something that's seemed like a complete waste of ...

Ok, so it's 7:30am and I'm blogging. Not a usual thing for me as I'll typically roll out of bed a few minutes to 9. Last night makes this even stranger because I was still awake at 2am. I'm not sure what happened to me, but I'm in one of the best moods I've been in, in quite a while.
Alright, so I took a Claritin ...

I sit here on my last day as a 28 year old, thinking a lot of things. I think of where it's all gone, what I have to show for it, will the next 28 be any better...
I think about people I've known who have touched my life, jobs I've had that helped put me in the position I'm in today, places I've visited and left and ...

Now, "the beginning" was technically when I moved in to my new place, but a week later I've still got some boxes out, waiting for a couch, and feeling disorganized. I spent last night setting up a new desk that I ordered. It wasn't exactly the one that I wanted (my cherry/silver combo was sold out) - but it fits perfect in it's spot and gives ...

I like nature... when I'm outside. I really do. I love a running stream, fall colors, an apple tree, and a walk through a snowy trail. But when I'm inside, I expect nature to stay out. Maybe that's wrong... to think it's ok to go out into nature, but not let it in... but whatever.
Which brings me to my current dilemma - the ladybug. ...

Alright, so a long week is over. 5 o'clock is creeping up in a few minutes and then I'm off to some amature NASCAR style races with Heather and Eli.
This week has been nuts with the Chicago trip, coming back to hectic work situations [clearing my throat], sleeping poorly... but I'm looking forward to 10 minutes from now. Tonight will be fun as long as the ...

Why the hell would you have cake and not eat it? My birthday is coming up on Saturday, so I thought it would be a good time to break my 6-day silence here. I'm not sure why I haven't written... it's not like I'm not living every day... but I've decided to stop starting every post with why I haven't written. It's annoying. What ...

Up early on Saturday morning, Heather and I decided "tan" before we headed out on vacation. Sure, we weren't going to any sunny location, but I thought I'd give her a little bit of Los Angeles anyway... so we stopped at a Mystic Tan place in Janesville. There was definitely a glow, but I wasn't really all that impressed. I was tan in the face, ...

I recently got a message through MySpace from an old friend. It was nice. Amy and I were pretty close when we were younger, 6th-9th grade maybe? It just brought me back to a time in life when things weren't so complicated...
Not that things are real complicated right now I suppose, but looking back 15 years ago... haha... its ridiculous the things that were important. ...

Paul Graham just posted an essay about "How To Do What You Love." He starts by talking about how kids really only distinguish between two different things: playing and not playing (chores, etc.). Paul then walks through an individual's steps through life and how, psychologically, they look at work, play, and enjoying what they do.
The reason I find this so interesting, is because my dad has ...
